Chingford Police Station update |
||
|
Dear Residents,
I am writing to update you about the major works that are currently underway at Chingford Police Station. I would firstly like to apologise for the noise and disruption that residents are experiencing, especially around parking and traffic. We currently have contractors on site at Chingford Police Station completing extensive work within the building and car park. This work is scheduled to finish by the 14th of September 2026. The work includes upgrading the station to be more sustainable in line with the Mayor of London’s commitments for his buildings. This includes replacing gas heating, upgrading electrical supply into the site and replacing the windows. These improvements will ensure that we have a continued emergency response team presence in the borough by enabling the building to be used as the response team base for Waltham Forest. The emergency response team for Waltham Forest are currently based in a patrol site within the Uplands Business Park but will move to Chingford Police Station early next year. The works do unfortunately mean that there is an increased presence of lorries visiting the site to make deliveries and collect waste. Due to the size of the car park, there may be times when these vehicles have difficulty entering the site and therefore assume space on the road outside of the station. The car park is largely inaccessible so police vehicles may be parked elsewhere within the vicinity of the site whilst the work in undertaken. The station is currently covered in scaffolding, and this is likely to remain in place for the duration of the works. I am committed to keeping you informed while the works continue so, please do get in touch if you have any enquiries.
Kind regards,
Sarah Sarah Jackson Waltham Forest Neighbourhoods | Superintendent North East BCU (Newham & Waltham Forest) | ||
